Jesus' sacrifice - 28 March 2021

Here are some ideas that you could do with your children at home, that link the children’s everyday experiences to the Bible. As you play or create, you can talk about what happened in the Easter story.

You could watch this video of the story:

Can you build a bridge? You could use lego, duplo or your recycling. Jesus dying on the cross is like a bridge built for us to be able to talk to God easily. We can now have a relationship with God our father, because of Jesus. As you build, play this song by Rend co Kids and talk about how Jesus loves us so much that He died for us.

Have a go at this craft…. A cross shape cut out of foam, could work with card too. Then cover with kitchen foil and use a pencil or ball point pen to create a beautiful pattern on the cross, to remind you that Jesus did a beautiful act of love when He died on the cross for us 😊

MESSAGE AND PRAYER

Jesus knew that the reason God had sent Him to earth was to do this amazing act of love by dying on the cross for us.

Before Jesus came, people couldn’t talk to God without going to the temple and there were lots of rules about how to talk to God, who was allowed and making sure you were clean before you did.

After Jesus died and the curtain was torn in two, we can now go to God whenever we like because Jesus took all of our bad choices and mistakes away and made us good and clean and perfect in front of God.

And now because of Jesus we have a bridge that means we can go freely to God whenever we like. Jesus is the greatest love of all!

Pray for your week together!
