Brighter Bristol Storehouse

After 6 years of being open, Storehouse will be taking a temporary break until Spring of 2020, in order to review our systems and procedures and to ensure we can offer the best possible service with the resources we have. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes but look forward to welcoming you back in 2020.

We offer great quality children’s clothing, bedding and equipment to families in need, for free. Families are able to come along, have a chat over a cup of tea and choose the items they need from amongst the many items that have been donated to Brighter Bristol Storehouse, whether clothes, toys, books or vital baby basics, including prams and pushchairs, cots and Moses baskets. We are available throughout the week to local referral agencies in crisis cases so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Important safety information regarding equipment

Safety notice - It has come to our attention that all padded Moses basket liners should have a fire safety label that states it complies with British Fire Regulations, but this is not always the case. If you have received a Moses basket from us, which doesn’t have an appropriate fire safety label on the padded liner, then please remove the liner. Ensure that the mattress still fits snugly.

Reminder - whenever you are obtaining secondhand baby, children’s goods and household items - always make sure it complies with British Safety Standards and fire regulations.

For further information regarding health & safety for you and your child, please have a look at Lullaby Trust, Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, Flammability Regulations or Mothercare. Alternatively, if you are unsure of anything then speak to your midwife or health visitor.

Due to storage issues, we sadly regret that we are unable to receive or supply furniture at present.  We hope to resume this service shortly.

We so appreciate your generosity in donating items to us and we readily welcome the items listed below. We are currently in need of children’s clothes between the ages of 2 and 14.

Please feel free to bring them to The Power House, Feeder Road, St.Philips , Bristol, BS2 OTH on a Friday morning between 10.00am and 12:30pm or call 07397 138411.

Here's the items that are really useful for us to run this project:

  • Children's clothes, shoes and accessories, aged 2 years +

  • School uniforms

  • Baby and toddler equipment e.g. Buggies, high chairs, safety equipment, cots etc

  • Maternity clothes

  • Nearly new toys

  • Bedding and towels

  • Household items

We are currently only accepting children’s clothes between the ages of 2 and 14 - we do not need adult clothes or clothes for babies under 2. Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks so much for running Storehouse. I’ve been able to get clothes and toys for my kids, which I currently would have really struggled to do otherwise. I love that I can also bring in clothing which is now too small for them to help others who need it too.

The Power House is located at 88 Feeder Road, St.Philips, Bristol, BS2 0TH.

It is on a business park - the gate has signs for Western Power, Avon Bank Depot and a number of other companies on it. Go 100 metres down the drive and The Power House is the first building on the right with the white door, opposite Kenneth Steele House. Go through the white double door & our offices are up the stairs to your left.

If you are on Feeder Road with the canal on your left, you will come to 4 bridges overhead, all close to each other, including the flyover & 2 covered footbridges. After the first bridge, turn immediately right, into the gate of the business park.

Parking is just past The Power House on the right hand side.

Storehouse is incredible and I love being part of the team. I get to meet so many different people and hear their stories which is great. I am always blown away by the generous donations that we get and the often perfect timing of being able to give them away to people who need them. Storehouse is able to give to so many people which is amazing.
