Stories

Everyone loves a good story...shared experiences knit a community together...have a look at some of the stories we are hearing on a regular basis of what God seems to be doing in people's lives

21 February 2012.  Emerging Leaders Training - great to gather with a third wave of emerging leaders since we started the church - fantastic bunch of people who are already significantly influencing Severn.

21 February 2012.  Second Alpha at the Robin Hood with 21 people there - top evening with good food/beer and a talk/Q&A with Christian.

19 February 2012.  Paused to review what has happened during 2011 and really excited to see the momentum and progress made last year - click here to watch the review.

19 February 2012.  Jumpers for Goalposts kicked off for the first time - 5 a side down at Goals! in Filton - 2 hours of non-stop footie, no Mum telling us to come in for tea - played until our knees hurt!

12 February 2012. What a great time we had celebrating the opening of our Creative Hub space in Long Ashton! A crowd of adults and children gathered together to toast this new venture. The Hub is our first premises to be used mid-week as we brainstorm, organise, implement and facilitate many of the things that makes Severn Vineyard happen. Much champagne and cake was consumed by all!

November 2011.  Having some great evenings down at the Bristol Ram - doing Alpha through November.  Lots of great discussion and debate over some yum food and drink.  Last one tomorrow.

18 Sept 2011.  Sunday Morning Gatherings started today!  Bringing together the adults, kids and youth together in the same new venue - Bristol Grammar School.  Three new groups for the kids and youth, with Fruitshoots - newborn to 5 years, The Hive - school years 1-6, and Vineyard Youth - school years 7 upwards meeting in dedicated facilities.  It was fab having the buzz of the children and adults together before and after the activities of the morning.

14 May 2011.  Great to get together with people who are involved with Vineyard Churches across the UK to celebrate in a unique way via live web streaming.  About 25 people from Severn joined another 120 or so from the southwest and wales in Bristol to participate in an event streamed live from Nottingham to ten venues across the UK and Ireland, of which Bristol was one.  Have a look at the video below:

Mid March 2011.  Student day away - it's difficult to tell who's a student and who isn't one in the church, but we managed to gather 10 of them together last Sunday and treat them to a day away in the beautiful Mendip Hills - aside from the stomp up to the top of a hill for an amazing view, a sumptuous lunch, some worship, prayer and Bible - it was fantastic to have some time to get to know each other better.

Early March 2011.  Four small groups got together to redecorate a primary school library in Knowle and restock the library with a £150 worth of books.  Such a privilege to get involved in this way and help out - loads of fun as well :-)

Jan 2011.  The recent Vineyard National Leaders Conference in Nottingham was a memorable experience for the 16 or so leaders who went from Severn.  The conference was held in Trent Vineyard's facilities and was the biggest annual conference to date with nearly 900 people from Vineyard Churches across the UK and Ireland.  There were some memorable talks, seminars and times of worship.  However the week is likely to be remembered by many of us for the late night Poker, laughs and of course the rapids in the tropical paradise at the heart of Centerparcs, Sherwood Forest!!

Dec 2010.  In December, some of the girls got away to Alan and Mary Edwards' home in Compton Bishop.  Here are a few pictures (hmm that hill looks familiar):
